I’m an adjunct professor at the School of Social Sciences and Technology at the Technical University of Munich and a senior advisor at Cascade Advisory, a DC-based consulting firm specializing in digital technologies and clean energy. I previously held positions as a researcher and lecturer at the Technical University of Dresden, an assistant professor at Curry College, a lecturer and Ph.D. student at the Ruhr-University Bochum, and a graduate assistant at Florida State University.
I hold the Venia Legendi in Political Science from the Technical University of Munich as well as a Ph.D. in Social Sciences (summa cum laude) from the Ruhr University Bochum. I completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate in 2023 and am further expanding my portfolio through the use of Natural Language Processing Tools in research and teaching.
Ongoing projects explore how global power shifts and technology interact, with a special focus on artificial intelligence and big data. I am interested in the implications of this interaction for the countries of the Global South as well as in the related governance dilemmas which arise at the national and global levels.
